Dr. Willie K. Yee is President of the Mid-Hudso.rr.comn Astronomical Association. He has received nine observing and outreach awards from the Astronomical League. He is a retired psychiatrist, jazz musician, and bicyclist. He is involved in the production of new episodes of Star Trek New Voyages, and is a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
Dr. Yee will present on the topic of Chinese astronomy at the WSP:
Chinese astronomy has a long and complex history, most of which is little known in the West. This talk will focus on a few highlights of Chinese astronomy, including discoveries that were made before those that were credited for them in the West. Recent activities of Chinese astronomers and the Chinese space program will be reviewed.
