Submission Guidelines

Here are some guidelines for submitting photography to this web page for inclusion in the SCAS Member Photo Archives;

1. Submit only your own work! We do not want copies of photographs from copyrighted sources.

2. Please use the following format to name the photo file(s) you are submitting,

(first initial+last name)_(name of object)_(date in MMDDYY format).jpg

For example: I shot M31 on Nov 20, 2007 and named the file

amullis_m31_112007.jpg

This will help the webmaster to keep files organized and give proper credit to the submitter. Years from now a new webmaster will have some clues as to who took the picture, what was photographed, and the date it was shot and/or posted.

3. Please keep the size of the file down to a reasonable size. Some internet users are still using a slow bandwidth access method to get on the internet. A 50-100KB file loads fairly fast for a dialup connection. If your file requires a larger size to present the proper resolution, use your judgement in determining the final size of the file.

4. A limited amount of information can be attached to each photograph submitted. Please keep this information short and concise! A suggested format might include,

A. Author (owner of photograph)

B. Object Name

C. Date, time, location.

D. Equipment and method used to acquire photograph.

E. Copyright (if applicable)

If you wish to resubmit/update a photograph that is presently in the SCAS Member Photo Archive. Please send it to the SCAS Webmaster at the address below.

Thank you!
